Established in 1956, The Food and Beverage Association of America™ is dedicated to promoting and advancing friendly relations between members, encouraging continuing education, assisting in career growth, providing industry-related scholarships, and offering philanthropic support for critical social issues.
The Association is a nonprofit 501c3 professional organization composed of individuals from the hospitality industry facilitating in the promotion and encouragement of the adoption and application of improved standards, methods, and the interchange of information in the food and beverage service industry.
The Association invests in the future of the hospitality industry through Scholarship and Awards Programs, offering financial assistance to future hospitality professionals who have demonstrated need and scholastic superiority.
Recent Major Contributions
The Association recently completed a five-year pledge of $100,000 to fund a learning center in the name of The Food and Beverage Association of America at the Bobst Library of New York University. This learning center will house a collection of information for students and faculty as it relates to our industry. The Association is pleased to be a sponsor of New York University’s Center of Hospitality and Tourism and Travel.
In 2007, the Association partnered with the Children’s Aid Society, Dunlevy Milbank Center and M Tucker restaurant equipment company to spearhead the design, procurement, and installation of a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen valued at $100,000 that assists in the daily training of culinary instruction to children & families of the Harlem community.
Additionally, over the past five years, the Association has committed student scholarship funds currently totaling $145,000 to the Hospitality Management Department, New York City College of Technology. These funds provide students the ability to complete their academic requirements toward their college degree and begin their professional careers in the Hospitality Industry.
